In 2021 Nadia Brenner was a pricing consultant with six clients and a timesheet in a spreadsheet. A formula error left a month of work for one client off an invoice. By the time she noticed, that client’s budget for the year was spent.
She wrote a timer that built the invoice for her, with the client’s rules baked in. Two friends who billed the same way asked for a copy, then their friends did. Owen Castellano, who had built billing systems at a payroll company, joined that summer.
Selby is now 11 people across five states. We have been profitable since 2024 and have never raised money, which keeps us answering to the people who pay us: about 3,800 consultants and small firms in the US and Canada.
